Las Vegas
Las Vegas, situated in Nevada, prides itself in being the entertainment capital of the world as well as hosting the largest collection of casinos in the world.
The Las Vegas strip is a four mile long stretch of road that houses 18 of the world’s 25 largest hotels, as well as some of the biggest, most expensive and glamorous casinos ever seen. The casinos themselves are huge and extravagantly named, for example the Seven Wonders of the World or the Caesar.
The biggest of all the hotel casinos is the MGM Grand, a 30 floor building complete with five outdoor pools, a 380,000 square foot conventions centre and CBS Television City, as well as numerous shops and nightclubs, 16 restaurants, two food courts and, of course, the largest casino in Clark County – 171,500 square foot.
Las Vegas is also one of the most highly populated cities in the United States with a population of way over 500,000. With its huge casinos and completely unique architecture, Las Vegas has been the setting for hundreds of Hollywood films.
Being the largest casino destination in the world, Las Vegas is huge competition for online casinos, with millions of keen gamblers hitting the strip every year. Despite this, online gaming is illegal in the States and Las Vegas remains one of the only places where people can enjoy gambling for money. This, accompanied with the constant drinking lifestyle it has and of course the prices, has gained Las Vegas a reputation as one of the most expensive destinations in the World.
