Supercasino U Turn

12th Jul 2007

Gordon Brown has made a U Turn on Tony Blairs proposed Supercasino in Manchester.

The new PM has said that a period of reflection is needed before plans are approved for the new casino. This follows the House of Lords bid to overturn the new gambling laws.

Brown is said to be looking into other ways to revive run down inner cities other than by turning them into gambling meccas.

The £200 million expected by Manchester and the estimated 2700 jobs are now in jeopardy.

Brown voted for the casino at every opportunity so this is an unexpected u turn.
