Land based casino's thrive under new law
13th Jun 2007The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA) has had a positive effect on casinos around the Unites States!!
Online gaming has taken a severe beating under UIGEA, but land based casinos have been thriving since the Bill was passed in September of 2006 by President Bush.
Land based casinos have been expanding rapidly in the last year and the latest US state to join teh band wagon is the Mid Western farming state of Iowa.
20 new casino sites will be opening across the state in the coming months and years allowing each of the states 2.9 million people the chance to access a casino easily.
Throughout June, there are large casinos opening their doors to the public. Among the first in the next few days, is Catfish Blend Casino. The estimated $35 Million casino will open its doors to the US public at 12pm on Monday June 18th.
Alongside poker, the casino will offer slots and 18 table games, a conference centre, bowling alley and a water park. This is set to become the new family day out where there are activities for everyone.
The next big casino will open its doors on 30 June.
Isle of Capri Casino will feature a pool, spa, nightclub making it one of the most expensive locations in Iowa costing a cool $175 million. This complex is the largest authorised by the State in 2005.
