Casino Laws Get Tougher
22nd Aug 2007The Queensland Government has announced that the penalties for casino operators who allow under-aged into the site are now increased, making the fines for letting people under 18 into the casino for up to $7,500 and an additional charge of $15,000 for letting them play casino games.
Anna Bligh, Deputy Premier, also announced to Parliament that that the Bill has many other alterations to the different gambling laws, making them laugher and harder to get around, which in terms according to her should make all the difference and make casinos less of the threat to the young adults in terms of psychological addiction that is so often referred to as a main criticism of online gambling industry.
"The main objectives of the Bill are to strengthen the Government's stance against minors entering and gambling in casinos, to introduce a licensing regime for those persons who test gaming equipment, and to implement certain recommendations arising from a review of the gaming machine operating authority re-allocation scheme for hotels," Anna Blight explained.
It is very understandable that the government taking into the account all the concerns and the incidents that occur through underaged gambling, drinking and the rest is toughing the laws giving parents the peace of mind and making the owners, managers and other staff more cautious and concerned about who is entering their outlet and using their services.
