Aspers new casino is about to come alive in Swansea. It involved £30 million and a lot of professionals to put the project together. Australian architects, supervising the building of the venue are now in Wales making sure the details are up-to-scratch. Their task is to put finishing touches to the magnificent development, which, according to the spokesperson for architectural practice, Bates Smart, should become the home of entertainment no later than in a month time.
That’s what Polly Gee, the UK project leader for Bates Smart at Aspers in Swansea had to say about the casino: “Our brief was to create a bespoke casino for Aspers that would raise the bar in the UK in terms of casinos, taking it to the standards that are commonplace back home in Australia, or in some of the Asian territories, where I worked myself.”
Bates outlined the significant difference between what he was used to and what is so different in the UK: "Back home, the laws surrounding casinos are somewhat different to the UK, in that membership isn’t required, so the venues encourage walk-up trade and offer something for everyone.
Richard Noble, Aspers' Salubrious casino Manager expressed his view: “We may have turned to Australia for the inspiration, but it is Welsh businesses that are turning the ideas into reality, and who will benefit. Wherever possible, we have looked to companies in the area to provide us with their expertise and knowledge and we have already invested more than £10m locally in the construction and fit-out phase. This will remain the case after we open for business, as we intend to continue utilizing local suppliers wherever possible.”
It is clear that the project has been thought through very carefully and the intentions seem very pleasant for Welsh economy. We shall wait and see whether this amazing project will justify the means. It can be suggested that those looking to have both on their holidays: ultimate casino experience and beautiful Welsh views; should be able to satisfy their needs here in a month time!
