WPT to expand online casino
24th March, 2008
The company that owns the World Poker Tour (WPT) has confirmed it will expand its online casino offering having reached a deal with software developer CryptoLogic.
Under the new agreement, WPT Enterprises will begin providing its casino game service in two new European languages - Spanish and German - as well as rolling out about 180 new titles.
The company already employs CryptoLogic software in its staple online poker room and mini-casino - which currently hosts just 13 titles - but it is looking to develop its market presence and become one of the internet's leading online casino gambling operators.
CryptoLogic chief executive Brian Hadfield said that after one year in partnership the two companies had become emboldened by the "exceptional online experience" that they believe they are offering gamers.
"Expanding and extending this relationship allows us to take the WorldPokerTour.com brand to a higher level," added WPT chief executive Steve Lipscomb.
The new deal sees WPT Enterprises committing to exclusively use CryptoLogic software until at least 2011.
