21st May, 2008
A major new casino is to be developed in Las Vegas by operator Station Casinos.
The casino gambling spot will be the fourth mega-resort in Vegas and according to president Lorenzo Fertitta the project is going to be worth in the region of US$10 billion.
Currently under the working title Viva, the venture will feature a combination of casinos, hotels, shops and restaurants.
Planning for Viva has been underway for about a year and Station Casinos is hoping to build it approximately one mile from Las Vegas on and around the spot currently occupied by the Wild Wild West casino.
Commenting on the new project, president Fertitta said: "As we started looking at the site, originally we were talking about one hotel-casino. But as we got more property we decided we have the ability to put multiple properties on there and create a whole development."
