Simpson Robs The Las Vegas Casino Hotel Room

18th September, 2007

OJ Simpson, who used to be a very successful American footballer, seems to be very nostalgic about his former career and glory. So nostalgic in fact, that he managed to get himself arrested and is now facing 6 charges in relation to the robbery of the sports memorabilia in the Las Vegas casino hotel room.

The serious charges occurred from an incident which happened in the Palace Station Casino, where supposedly a group of men with masks broke into a hotel room and grabbed sporting memorabilia that related to the football player from two dealers.

According to the Las Vegas Police spokesperson the footballer could now be facing 6 different charges in relation to this incident, including serious allegations, such as robbery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.

Alfred Beardsley, sport memorabilia collector, who was present in the casino hotel room during the incident and therefore is one of the main witnesses, said that men pretended to be customers when entering the casino hotel room. After they came in, he said that Simpson was the one to demand the memorabilia asserting that they belonged to him all along. After acquiring the items, they left. Mr Beardsley claims that the men had guns and were threatening him with them in case he would not want to give up the items.

OJ Simpson, on the other hand denies that there were any firearms involved, he claims that he was only trying to get back what was his in the first place.

Capt. James Dillon of Las Vegas police stated that Simpson was extremely cooperative and “there were no issues”.
