Retired Movie Maker Turns to Casino Game Invention

4th December, 2007

Hollywood movie mogul David Thomas has decided to ditch the big screen and focus on his casino game invention – Blackjack Extreme, it has been reported.

The director, who worked on a number of films such as documentary MC 5 A True Testimonial and Welcome to 18, now hopes to put his efforts into his new product, which integrates blackjack and poker into one game.

According to the Kansas City Star, Thomas says that promoting his new game is "a lot more fun" than movie making – despite this being his first venture into the gambling world.

Speaking to the paper, Thomas said of BlackJack Extreme: "It's fast. It's fun."

He added: "We think casinos are evolving into amusement centers rather than gambling halls. We are offering casinos a new roller coaster for their park."

Thomas is hoping to sell BlackJack Extreme as a card-game show on television, an online poker game and an electronic game combining slot machines and video poker in casinos.

"This is very ambitious to move simultaneously into three major industries," he said.

BlackJack Extreme is similar to ordinary blackjack but sees everyone being given the opportunity to become the dealer.

As a dealer, you are allowed to bluff, fold and hit any soft hand, and as a player you can take as many cards as you like to make the best hand.
