PKR Poker To Launch New 3D Online Casino
17th March, 2010
According to a forthcoming interview in eGaming Review, PKR Chief executive Malcolm Graham has revealed that PKR is to launch a 3D casino by the end of the year.
Graham said they will introduce a whole suite of casino games to build upon the success of their 3D poker offering which, since launching in 2006, has grown on average by one million players per year.
“My hypothesis is that there’s an opportunity to leverage a richer visual experience on the table side, hence what we’re doing. At the moment it’s somewhere between 2D and 3D. There are limitations to the movie-esque table experience, which we’re hopeful we can take to another level.
“We’re in the process of rolling out 3D casino games, which included launching 3D roulette [pictured] in December. It will be the best roulette product in the market [and] we’ll then be adding table games to that.”
PKR is planning on adding blackjack in July, casino hold ‘em in September and Caribbean stud and baccarat in November with third parties providing slot games.
When Graham commented on the mixed reviews of current 3D casinos he said that the successful uptake of a 3D online casino depends on factors such as: “world class CRM, payment processing and tournament offerings”, which the new PKR casino will offer.
PKR is also seeking to translate the social elements of PKR poker to the casino product for example, offline meet-ups, Graham revealed.
“As the online demographic broadens it will attract people who want to chat at the table. But we’re not going to force it down their throats,” he said.
Adding casino will come as part of a programme of improvements over the next 12 to 18months which will also see improvements made to PKR’s poker offering including the addition of multi table functionality and quicker access to the table
“It’s now three and a half years’ old, so there’s lots we can do on the poker and CRM side,” Graham said.
