Online casino group redesigns blackjack
26th February, 2008
Leading internet gaming software developer Entertasia has expanded its range of games by unveiling a novel version of blackjack.
Crazy21R draws from the traditional rules of the casino game - whereby players have to deploy some adept card counting to reach a hand close to but not exceeding 21 - except with one crucial twist.
In the redesigned version, dealers can now take advantage of a 'common cards' concept which allows them to serve thousands of players concurrently, without reversing the progressive nature of the game.
Until now most versions of the game have required a unique dealer and deck of cards for each gambler, placing a strain on the resources of many online casinos.
"We are very pleased with our latest development it is not only an addition to our casino game package but also the significance of its design will have a major impact on game design in the future," commented Entertasia chief executive Jason Chan.
He added: "This new development reflects our efforts and status as one of the biggest software providers in bringing this first-ever resources-effective solution of Blackjack to the industry."
The game of blackjack evolved from an early 18th-century French precursor known as vingt-et-un (21).
