Online Casino Gambling Soon Be Banned in Norway
30th November, 2007
Norwegian government is thinking about protecting their gaming market. They want to make it illegal for all Norwegian financial organizations to process payments for online casino gambling firms.
“There had been some debate as to whether payment processing was covered under the term mediating,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs.
The reason to introduce such legislation is based around the country economy. Restricting financial activity of Norwegian financial institutions to do with online gaming would protect country’s state gambling monopoly Norske Tipping.
