New touch-screen table in Las Vegas casino

13th June, 2008

The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has debuted a new high-tech touch-screen table which lets casino visitors order drinks, play games and much more.

Developed by Microsoft Corp. and Harrah’s Entertainment Inc, the table allows the tracking of the customers behavior, learning their gambling habits and adding to a sophisticated customer rewards system. The tables are being sold at $10,000 each, with the casino ordering six of the 30-inch flat screens.

Patrons can order their own mix of cocktails on the system, by simply clicking their chosen drinks on the table. The software can then remember preferences and later on offer drinks based on those preferences at other locations.

Customers can even ‘flirt’ with others using the tables, by letting them chat, send pictures and email each other. Users can even send their phone numbers if they wish. For those that this feature may not be so applicable for, there are plenty of other uses for the table. Restaurants, bars and other attractions can all be looked up for entertainment after some fun in the casino.
