Illegal Casino Gamblers Raided in Sweden

In the beginning of last week Swedish police have organised and carried out an operation that was aiming to find all the illegal casino gambling locations and everybody who is involved in offering the illegal services to public.
150 cafes, bars and clubs in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Vasteras and Uppsala were raided, which resulted in 300 illegal casino gaming machines being apprehended and many people being arrested due to the number of different breaches of Swedish gambling laws.
: “A large number of people have been arrested and questioned”, stated Malin Sahlstrom, a police spokesman.
This kind investigation was the largest ever and demonstrated the power of joined forces, as Tax Board, the National Economic Crimes Bureau and the Gaming Board all provided information and help to the police.
Christina Greiner, Chief Prosecutor for the National Economic Crimes Bureau, had this to say on the matter: “I don't want to go into the exact number but at least ten people are suspected of tax offences, false accounting offences and obstruction of tax checks.”
