Greek Scratch Card Travels Down Under
21st September, 2007
There are rumours out there that Athens based gaming company, Intralot is trying to obtain over $1 million prize scratch card lottery licence and is now negotiating the details with Australia’s Victoria state government.
Greek company’s senior official have been spotted in Melbourne yesterday and the reports say that the negotiations are reaching the closing date.
If the deal will end successfully, then the Tattersall’s lottery will face its first ever competition in 50 years running. Nevertheless, in the near future Tattersall is more likely to keep the majority control of the lottery sector worth $1.2 billion a year.
We shall update you on the progress to see if the lottery newcomer manages to penetrate such monopolistically established market. The next thing we might hear about is a new grand casino delivered from Crete.
