Gamer bags $5.5m at Blackjack Ballroom

One lucky Finnish casino gambling enthusiast has walked away with the biggest jackpot ever won on any of the Microgaming community's network of online gaming houses.
After betting a measly $0.50 (25p) on the Mega-Moolah progressive slot machine at BlackjackBallroom.com, Klaus E was amazed to discover he had hit the jackpot to the tune of $5.56 million (£2.8 million).
CasinoRewards, a subsidiary of software developer Microgaming which operates the online casino, issued a press release that described Mr E as "stunned and shocked". It added that he had said: "My hands were shaking."
"Klaus has just become part of an elite community of online casino players who have 'hit it big' and joined the exclusive CasinoRewards Millionaires' Club," a spokesman confirmed. "We congratulate him on his win and look forward to joining him in his celebrations."
The Finn now becomes the thirteenth person to be made a millionaire by CasinoRewards progressive slots, with a total of $27 million being dished out in first-prize jackpots since 2000.
Preparations are currently underway to fly Klaus to Sydney, where he will be formally presented with his winnings.
