Gala Casinos Want to Expand

Today, GalaCoral's Chief Executive Neil Goulden stated that he is waiting for the government to bring back the plans to build 16 more casinos. He is expecting the plans to be back before the parlament by the end of November, so in two weeks time.
Political experts are suspecting the plans will come back before the end of 2007 the latest.
Nevertheless, a spokesman for the government said that an order will be raised in the near future, but the bill can’t be concluded before the completion of the report into regeneration around Manchester and Blackpool sites, that are at the moment being considered as the most likely locations for the largest ever in the UK, Vegas-like casino.
In the original plans the government took forward Supercasino was going to be built together with the additional 16 big and expensive casinos all around the UK.
The fact that Manchester was chosen over Blackpool, Glasgow or South East London for the new location of the giant Vegas casino prototype, shocked many audiences.
In July Gordon Brown saw the disagreements arising inside the House of Lords and decided to give up the idea of a Supercasino, explaining it by saying “there are better ways to encourage regeneration”.
