E-Gaming industry – The online Casino sector

18th January, 2010

The e-gaming industry is an umbrella term which houses many sub industries which offer consumers various services and gaming opportunities online. Under this huge industry is the Online Casino sector, hugely popular around the world offering a unique experience opposed to it’s land based counterpart.

Online Casinos operate around the world, and even in closed markets where the activity is illegal, there still seems to be a large amount of people playing as it’s evidently very difficult to ban, monitor and control without very strict measures.

This is where the online casino industry may feel more ‘taboo’ than other e-gaming activities, the nations which ban online casino’s spur the citizens to want to play even more resulting in law breaking and a frustrated population.

The UK online casino market is thriving due to a very liberal market with very effective control and a tight regulation system which allows online casinos the freedom to fully operate and sell to their potential markets.

When comparing the US e-Gaming industry to the UK e-gaming industry, it’s clear to see that free liberalisation with strong monitoring and regulatory system proves to be far more effective than trying to stop and ban something which seems to be inevitable.
