DiCaprio 'not much of a gambler'

Onlookers at Marrakech's Es Saadi Gardens and Resort were surprised to see that Hollywood hunk Leonardo DiCaprio didn't splash much cash at the on-site casino - despite earning up to $20 million (£9.7 million) a movie.

The Titanic star was said to have been particularly modest in his bets at the Moroccan gambling haunt and refused to part with any large lump sums.

According to the Daily Express, a source said: "People obviously expected a Hollywood superstar to be laying down some big bets but it turned out he wasn't much of a gambler. He didn't seem to pay out much at all."

He added: "His face was hidden under a large baseball cap and nobody seemed to realise it was him. He only got rumbled when a little boy recognised him."

Morroco, however, is an unlikely choice for a celebrity to try his hand at a spot of blackjack or roulette, with Las Vegas being a much more popular spot for the rich and famous.

Speaking to Forbes.com, Howard Lefkowitz, president of online travel service Vegas.com, said: "Celebs love coming to Las Vegas because the casinos are very accommodating to them.

"They can have a spectacle or be shielded from the public eye."
