Celebs back Ohio casino resort

Two popular American TV stars have thrown their weight behind proposals for a new casino in the US state of Ohio.
Promoters Brad Pressman and Rick Lertzman are preparing to submit a bill to state legislators that would see the Las Vegas-style casino being given a green light to enter the development stage.
Seeking to drum up public support in the Midwestern state ahead of November's ballot vote, promoters have launched a new TV and radio advertising campaign featuring two popular celebrities.
Jamie Farr, who played Corporal Klinger in the popular TV show M.A.S.H. is the first of the high-profile backers, joined by Vicki Lawrence, who played Mama on the Carol Burnett Show.
Casino gambling has been outlawed in Ohio, but with a recession looming analysts say the state may be swayed by the casino's predicted creation of 5,000 jobs and $200 million (£100 million) annual tax injection.
If approved, it will be situated between Columbus and Cincinnati in Ross County. Developers have said set-up costs will be somewhere in the region of $600 million.
