Casinos at the Race Track

27th December, 2007

Two race tracks in America have launched roulette and other table games.

Tri-State Racetrack & Gaming Center officials had hoped to begin offering poker games at the first of the year. But officials at the Nitro track said there have been problems with getting classes for poker dealers up and running.

"You aren't looking at any gaming at Tri-State until probably fall,'' Tri-State owner Dan Atkins said Monday.

West Virginia State University Community and Technical College is to offer the classes. Track officials said there have been delays in finding certified instructors and getting equipment.

Atkins said the classes probably will not begin until June or July. He said refunds will be offered to people who signed up for the classes.
