Casino Royale star speaks of new movie

3rd December, 2007

Gambling enthusiasts who enjoyed last year's James Bond flick Casino Royale will be pleased to know the next film follows similar themes.

Although he refused to give too much away, actor Daniel Craig, who played 007 in the most recent instalment, said that the new film will "go straight on from the end of the last one".

He added: "We've picked some themes that come up in the last movie. They are pretty fundamental ones and they're good fun to do."

Craig said that he had been hesitant about continuing to take on the role of the famous English spy, but that the success of Casino Royale had spurred him on.

The new film will represent the 22nd Bond movie to be produced and will, like Casino Royale, follow one of Ian Fleming's novels.

It is claimed that while filming Casino Royale, producer Michael Wilson made the stars join a poker school and get training in how to play the game.

The nine actors who sat at the same poker table as Bond were also given lessons in how to look and act like professional poker players.
