Casino Royale Created a Trend

1st November, 2007

After the release of Casino Royale Daniel Craig, it now seems will be James Bond for some time to come. He has now signed a deal that obliges him to play in four more movies in the role of the 007 agent.

He might not have been approved by many as the most suitable for the James Bond role, but the producers definitely disagree with that criticism, as the rumors say that the deal he just signed will make him the highest paid actor in UK.

It is not surprising he’s being paid so much after Casino Royale. Despite the common view before the movie got released that Daniel would never be able to substitute Pierce Bronson as James Bond , Casino Royale has shut those mouths for ever after becoming the most successful 007 movie ever. It seems the public enjoyed the speechless, humorless poker fan as a new James Bond.

Here is the report by Guardian about Daniels brand spanking new contract:

Hollywood studio MGM has signed the British actor, who won plaudits for his tough and rugged 007 in Casino Royale, for another four movies. It was already known that Craig would don the tuxedo jacket a second time for the forthcoming 22nd Bond film, but his further plans had been unclear. Now his future at MI6 seems assured. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Harry Sloan, MGM's chief executive and chairman, "signed Daniel Craig to do four more James Bond films" because franchises are the "the bases of any studio".
