Amy Corbett Gets the Fortune
12th September, 2007
According to today’s press release, Gala Casinos have chosen to employ ex-marketing manager at Boots, Amy Corbett to manage the Fortune Loyalty scheme project around the UK.
When working at Boots, Amy’s main duties were working on the Boots Health and Beauty magazine and managing the boots advantage card. She managed to recruit 2, 6 million cardholders in a year from 2005 to 2006, which are the highest figures anyone has had in the last 10 years.
That’s what Amy Corbett had to say on the matter: “I’m delighted to be joining Gala at this exciting time. Fortune is going to be giving casino goers even more opportunities to enjoy the casino experience. Initial feedback suggests that the scheme will be remarkably popular and will provide us with a greater insight into the needs of our customers.”
Fortune is not an ordinary loyalty scheme, as aside from the usual assessment criteria, such as gaming frequency and new members’ introduction (usually referred to as “invite a friend” scheme); it is also going to assess more unusual loyalty, such as customers’ food and beverage purchases. In a way it is like buying in bulk but in individual units over a longer period of time: the more units you buy, the cheaper they become. Nevertheless, you don’t actually get a money discount on the future purchases, instead you get points that you can redeem against food and drinks and articles from Fortune gift catalogue.
The scheme is spread around the UK and is running in most well-known and respected casinos, such as Glasgow and Nottingham.
Gala Casinos is very big the UK, they have 31 casinos nationally including the Isle of Man and Gibraltar. It has 1,3 million members, which puts it in one of the leading positions in the UK.
