888 to develop Asian casino service

11th January, 2008

One of the world's largest online gaming companies, 888 Holdings PLC, has outlined plans to develop an Asian live casino service.

The owner of such brands as Casino-on-Net and Pacific Poker issued a statement saying a Philippines-based operating company will manage local operation while it will handle all marketing activity itself.

Also included in the agreement is a commitment to produce an Asian-focused sports book product through a partnership with specialised Asian publisher E-Sky.

The new Asia-wide service will launch in the first quarter of 2008 and analysts expect it to be a huge success across numerous territories as the continent's penchant for gambling continues to grow.

Voice of America News recently reported that the number of gambling outlets in the Chinese region of Macau - often regarded Asia's gaming capital - has more than doubled to 27 over the past few years.ADNFCR-1406-ID-18423558-ADNFCR
