$3 billion revenue for casinos in Taiwan

23rd November, 2007

The manager of 13 casinos in the USA, Larry Woolf said in a report that should Taiwan take the steps to legalise the industry they could generate enormous revenues.

At the moment, there are talks about allowing casinos to be built on the islands of Penghu for exmaple, which surround Taiwan. The legislation is thought to be a certainty and these resorts will rival those in Macau. Macau generated over $9 billion in revenue in only 12 months.

The company, Amazing, based out in the Isle of Man which is waiting in the wings to build the resort on Penghu is planning on investing $50 million in the project. The resort is planned for 2009 and has room for a casino if and when the license is granted.

The potential is there for Taiwan to build and home the worlds largets casino, beating neighbouring Macau's 800 table casino.
